A note on safety

Sit on a cushion and support the knees if they are high; go gently with knee issues. This is general guidance, not medical advice. A qualified teacher can adapt this pose to your body, which is exactly what we do in our private sessions at home in Doha.

FAQ

Why won't my knees go down in Butterfly?
Tight hips, which is normal. Support the knees on cushions and let them open over time. Never push them down.

Practise it with a teacher
