The State of Yoga in Doha 2026

How does Doha actually practise yoga in 2026? There is almost no local data on this, so we are gathering our own. Add your voice below, and we will publish the anonymised results for the whole community.

Yoga is growing fast in Qatar, but almost everything written about it uses global or Western numbers. Nobody has asked the simple local questions: how many people here practise, where they do it, what stops them, and whether the shift to practising at home is real. AIR & CORE is running an open community survey to find out, and we will share the findings openly.

Why we are doing this

As teachers working across Doha, we hear the same things again and again: people are curious about yoga but put off by busy studios, unsure where to start, or short on time between work and family. We wanted to move past anecdote and actually measure it, so the community, journalists and other teachers have real local numbers to point to.

What we are asking

  • Whether you practise yoga, and how often.
  • Where you practise: a studio, at home, online, or not yet.
  • The single biggest barrier that stops you practising more.
  • Which area of Doha you are in, so we can map interest across the city.
  • Whether at-home yoga appeals to you, and roughly what you would expect to spend.

It takes under two minutes, and every answer is anonymous. The more people respond, the more useful the picture becomes.

We are collecting responses now and will publish the anonymised findings on this page once we have enough to be meaningful. Check back soon, or add your email above and we will send them to you. If you are a journalist or fellow teacher and would like the underlying numbers to cite, get in touch and we will share them.
